Fuquay Varina Project: Basement Remodel
Basement Remodeling & Renovation at Corbett Design Build
The homeowners contacted us in need of design ideas for their basement. They enjoy entertaining and especially enjoy billiards with friends. Their original basement was very vanilla with builder-grade cabinets, carpet, and vinyl. Together we came up with a design that brought their basement from plain jane to a work of art!
The kitchen was gutted and redesigned and cabinets were recessed two feet into some unfinished space. A custom island was added. All finishes were upgraded including new cabinets, countertops, appliances, and backsplash.
The door to the outside was replaced with a double door with transom hinged on the outside to open out. A curved soffit was designed to divide the kitchen and family room area and unify the room’s overall design.
The family room area was also gutted, new flooring was installed in the whole space, a contemporary fireplace was installed in the wall with a new stone facade on the entire wall, custom floating shelves and lighting were also added. In the basement bathroom, the fiberglass tub was removed and a new tile shower and floor and new countertop were installed. Some previously unfinished space in the basement was finished for storage and some of the existing kitchen cabinets were utilized in that space.
