Cary Project: Split Level Kitchen Remodel
Split Level Kitchen Remodel by Corbett Design Build
Check out this gorgeous Split Level Kitchen Remodel!
The homeowners contacted us about remodeling their split-level home to make it more functional and accessible for elderly family members. They also wanted to update their kitchen. Their kitchen and primary eating area were on the second level up several steep brick steps. They were hoping to make the steps easier to navigate.
After meeting at their home, we saw many possibilities that would not only make the kitchen more accessible but would vastly improve the whole home’s functionality.
The kitchen was moved to the main level and an addition was added on the rear side of the home. The new location allowed for a much larger kitchen. It also allowed for the creation of a locker area with valuable storage convenient to the back door. It also provided a better location for the basement staircase. The gorgeous new kitchen features white cabinets, a royal blue island and lockers, granite countertops, a farmhouse sink, stainless steel hood and appliances. There is also a new pantry created adjacent to the kitchen in the hall area.
Stairs going up to the second level were moved against the wall. A new set of stairs to the basement was created off the rear of the kitchen. The former kitchen on the second level was enlarged and transformed into a family room with new windows all around. A large storage closet was created in the prior dining area.
