I remember meeting with the Goode’s the first time. Their first questions were, “Can you help our home? It looks like a duplex—can you do anything to help it?” Of course, there were other areas of the home that also needed to be addressed, but that is where we started.
The results are literally car-stopping! Not only were we able to transform the exterior of the home, we were able to greatly improve the home’s function by increasing the size of the living room, dining room, and kitchen nook by moving out the entire front walls of the house. We also added a large dormer on the second floor which allowed the addition of another bedroom on the second floor. Care was taken to preserve the unique charm and character of the home throughout the updating process. We installed new random width hardwoods in the first floor rooms. One bedroom on the second floor now boasts reclaimed white oak floor milled from timbers taken from an old barn in Virginia—it is gorgeous! We also added a stone patio, sidewalk and a stately cast-iron picket fence with brick columns which perfectly sets off the completed project.
